Following the Eaton Wildfire, which destroyed more than 9,400 structures and burned approximately 14,000 acres, GER³ deployed an assessment team to identify critical needs within affected communities.
GER³ has since been awarded a year-long grant to support early recovery and help communities prepare for future wildfire risks.
Working alongside local residents and partners, the program will focus on smoke remediation, debris removal, environmental testing, home hardening, and fire-resistant landscaping. Together, these activities are designed to help families recover from the immediate impacts of the fire while making homes and communities more resilient to future disasters.
As GER³ prepares to begin full program implementation, the team has been building relationships with local partners, participating in community-led events, and supporting the work of nonprofit organizations already serving affected residents.
