GER3 is honored to receive the Outstanding Community Partner Award from the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles in recognition of our work to strengthen the wildfire resilience of Camp Mariposa in Altadena.
Camp Mariposa is much more than a collection of buildings. It is a place where generations of girls have developed leadership skills, built confidence, and formed lifelong connections. Our goal was to enhance the camp’s resilience against future wildfires while preserving the spirit and purpose that have made it such an important community resource.
By upgrading the camp with more fire-resistant building materials and resilience measures, GER3 helped ensure that Camp Mariposa can continue serving girls and volunteers for years to come.
As Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles CEO Theresa Edy Kiene said, this “extraordinary gift restored opportunities and a sense of normalcy for so many girls and volunteers.”
