GER³ has launched a new multi-sector shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and health program in Ukraine, designed to support more than 34,000 people living in frontline communities affected by the war.
Launched in May with support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, the project is focused on repairing damaged homes, restoring access to safe water, and strengthening essential health facilities in the Khersonska and Kharkivska oblasts.
Planned activities include:
- 351 household repairs, helping families make damaged homes safer and more livable.
- Water system repair kits for three communities, supporting the restoration of essential water infrastructure.
- 10 boreholes supported by solar-powered systems, helping communities maintain access to water during disruptions to the electricity supply.
- Replacement of one water tower, restoring a critical part of local water infrastructure.
- Seven water filtration system installations, improving access to safe water.
- Repairs to six hospitals, including improvements to water connections, sanitation facilities, and heating systems, as well as the provision of essential equipment and furniture.
Together, these activities will help restore essential services and improve living conditions for thousands of people in communities facing the ongoing impacts of the war.
GER³ is implementing the project in partnership with District #1 and Spilna Sprava (Common Cause for People), combining local knowledge and technical expertise to deliver assistance where it is needed most.
