GER3 is seeking a Smoke Remediation Project Manager to startup, oversee and manage smoke remediation operations in response to the Eaton wildfires in Altadena. This role is responsible for leading remediation crews, ensuring job site safety, managing project timelines, and coordinating cleaning efforts to restore affected properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental remediation or construction site management, with strong leadership, organizational, and operational skills.
This role requires flexibility and adaptability. The Smoke Remediation Project Manager must be prepared to pivot strategies, adjust remediation approaches, and support new initiatives as needed to maximize the overall impact of GER3’s wildfire recovery efforts.

Project Management & Timeline Execution
Own, establish and kickstart foundational systems and programming for all Smoke Remediation activities.
Develop and manage a detailed project plan and work schedules, ensuring remediation activities remain on track, and all requirements for the work are being met.
Coordinate logistics for personnel, equipment, and cleaning supplies.
Monitor progress against established timelines and adjust strategies as needed to meet goals.
Crew & Operations Management
Supervise and manage teams of smoke remediation workers, ensuring efficiency and high-quality work.
Lead daily briefings, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to meet project goals.
Oversee cleaning operations, ensuring proper techniques and protocols are followed.
Implement and enforce GER3’s standards for smoke remediation, decontamination, and air quality control.
Training, Onboarding & Team Leadership
Ensure training materials are comprehensive and support any adjustments needed.
Onboard and train new remediation crew members, ensuring they understand safety protocols and remediation procedures.
Conduct hands-on training sessions on proper use of cleaning agents, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Foster a strong team culture, ensuring workers are motivated, engaged, and supported throughout operations.
Job Site Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and GER3 safety guidelines.
Conduct daily safety checks and risk assessments, addressing hazards proactively.
Ensure all personnel use appropriate PPE and follow decontamination protocols.
Maintain accurate safety documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.
Financial & Resource Management
Track expenses and ensure remediation activities remain within budget constraints.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and PPE, coordinating procurement as necessary.
Provide financial reports on resource usage and operational costs.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with local officials, community members, property owners, and GER3 leadership to ensure alignment on remediation efforts.
Maintain clear communication with partners and program staff regarding project progress.
Prepare and submit regular reports on remediation activities, team performance, and impact.
Program Flexibility & Adaptability
Adapt to new initiatives, evolving program priorities, and operational changes to enhance program impact.
Collaborate with GER3 leadership to optimize remediation strategies and pivot approaches as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Take initiative in identifying opportunities for innovation, process improvements, and expanded program support.

Description3+ years of experience in smoke remediation, environmental remediation, construction management, or a related field.
Proven leadership experience managing teams in field operations.
Ability to effectively train and mentor crews in technical cleaning and decontamination procedures.
Understanding of job site safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA guidelines.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Financial literacy and experience managing budgets or project expenses.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including wearing PPE for extended periods.
Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs, operational adjustments, and new initiatives.
Resides in Los Angeles area, preferably in proximity to Altadena.

GER3 is seeking a Finance and Compliance Specialist to oversee financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance in support of our wildfire recovery efforts in Altadena. This role is responsible for guiding and ensuring the financial health of the program, managing financial records, ensuring adherence to grant and funding requirements, monitoring budgets, and implementing compliance protocols to support the organization’s recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial management, compliance oversight, or nonprofit accounting, with strong analytical, organizational, and regulatory knowledge.
This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as the Finance and Compliance Specialist will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the program beyond their core responsibilities. The Specialist must be prepared to refine financial strategies, adjust compliance procedures, and support new initiatives as needed to maximize the overall impact of GER3’s wildfire recovery efforts.
The Finance and Compliance Specialist will work in Los Angeles, preferably near Altadena. The position is to be filled for approximately ten (10) months with a possible extension that is dependent upon funding.

Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Oversee budget tracking, budget analysis, expense monitoring, and financial forecasting.

The Community Liaison plays a vital role in bridging GER3’s mission with the needs of the community, serving as the primary external representative for the Eaton Fire Recovery Program. This role involves engaging with local stakeholders, attending community events, fostering partnerships, advocating for community needs, and ensuring transparent communication between GER3 and the communities we serve. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, relationship-builder, and advocate, capable of facilitating meaningful collaboration between GER3 and local organizations, residents, and other recovery stakeholders.

Community Engagement & Representation:
Serve as the primary external representative of GER3 in the Eaton Fire Recovery Program.
Attend community events, town halls, symposiums, and gatherings to gather information, represent GER3, and communicate our activities, goals, and impact.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with local community members, leaders, and organizations.
Identify and advocate for community needs, ensuring they are communicated effectively to the GER3 team.
Act as the main point of contact for community inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
Mediate and address community concerns or conflicts related to GER3’s work.
Partnership Development & Collaboration:
Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and businesses to enhance GER3’s impact.

Support with coordination of activities with external partners to ensure efficient recovery efforts.
Event Coordination & Outreach:
Organize and facilitate events as needed, including informational sessions, workshops, and community meetings.

Assist in creating and implementing community outreach campaigns to enhance visibility and engagement.
Support the Training Manager and the Program Coordinator in development and execution of community training events.
Serve as a trusted resource for accurate and timely recovery information, ensuring clear and effective messaging to the community.
Ensure community outreach efforts are inclusive and accessible to diverse populations, including underserved or vulnerable groups
Internal Coordination & Reporting:
Maintain regular communication between the GER3 team and external stakeholders to align on key priorities and initiatives.
Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings, ensuring that community perspectives are integrated into program planning.
Support the development of program reports, assessments, and evaluations as needed.
Data Collection & Impact Measurement:
Support with community needs assessments to gather real-time insights on evolving priorities, as needed.
Support in collection of feedback and testimonials from residents to measure program effectiveness, as needed.
Maintain an up-to-date stakeholder database and map of partner organizations, community leaders, public and private entities, and others as needed.

3-5 years’ experience in community engagement, public relations, or disaster recovery programs.
Strong ability to build trust and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Experience in event coordination, outreach, and stakeholder management.
Ability to identify and address community needs proactively.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of disaster recovery, humanitarian work, or community-based initiatives (preferred).
Comfortable working in post-disaster environments and adapting to evolving priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and digital communication tools.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the community as needed.
